Browns Profile - Jerome Harrison
Today's Browns' Profile features backup running back Jerome Harrison. Harrison, who started training camp as the clear number two running back has been sidelined by an undisclosed injury is currently in a battle with rookie James Davis. Harrison is expected to be back soon for the Browns, and with the anemic feel of the running game so far any extra depth would go a long way.
Harrison is originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan where he played football for Kalamazoo Central high school. He began his college career at Pasadena City College playing there for two years. He then transferred to Washington State in 2004 were he joined the team as a Junior. During that junior season Harrison managed to start the final five gams and finish the year with a total of 900 yards.
He senior season was truly a breakout year as he set the Washington State single season rushing record and led the NCAA with 1900 yards. He also set an NCAA record for 16 consecutive 100 yard rushing games and at the conclusion of the season was a consensus All-American choice in 2005.
Coming off of this spectacular season Harrison entered the 2005 NFL draft and was selected in the 5th round by the Cleveland Browns. As a rookie he played in 10 games and was only able to amass 60 yards on the ground and 47 yards receiving. The past two years both his playing time and numbers have slowly crept up although he still has less than 500 career rushing yards.
With the exit of Jason Wright this past off-season and the aging of Jamal Lewis the door was open for Harrison to greatly increase his workload and production in 2009. However, as mentioned earlier his injury and the emergence of James Davis may have changed that. However, there have been rumors concerning Jamal Lewis and the potential he could be cut due to his high salary and declined skills. This may make sense financially, however, I am not sure that Harrison and Davis have what it takes from a durability standpoint at this juncture to handle the entire load.

Important fantasy football trade?
I would be giving up: DeAngelo Williams, Pierre Thomas, and Brandon Pettigrew
I would receive: Jahvid Best, Felix Jones, and Falcons D
My RB's are: Steven Jackson, LeGarrette Blount, DeAngelo Williams, Pierre Thomas, Michael Bush, and Jerome Harrison.
His RB's are: Michael Turner, Felix Jones, Jahvid Best, Mike Tolbert, and Ryan Torain.
Who would win the trade? I feel like I get two high upside players and give awaya potential bust but a high upside player in DeAngelo.
