Division 1A College Football Playoffs!?
I know the season is only halfway through and there are still some deciding games to be played, like...
FSU@BC
Missouri@Oklahoma
USF@Cincy
CAL@Arizona St
plus, all the SEC match-ups.
....BUT WHAT IF!!?
The Playoffs started today. Look at these 1st round match-ups.
LSU vs Hawaii
CAL vs Cincy
Ohio St vs Arizona St
Boston College vs Missouri
USF vs Vir Tech
Oklahoma vs UF
WVU vs USC
Oregon vs South Carolina
Is there any doubt that we would definitely get a TRUE National Champion from that playoff bracket?
halfwaytoeverywhere,
It's the playoffs, If they don't lose give them a chance. Seed them @ 16 and see how good(or bad) they really are...
DP,
I'm a die-hard Florida State fan and I will stand up and yell to anyone in hearing distance that Florida State shouldn't be any higher than what they are. The lost in Clemson the first game of the year. Then went on the road and won to Colorado, who beat and unbeated #4 ranked Oklahoma, so that was a big win. But for us to be any higher than 22 is ridiculous.
Also, I think UF is ranked about where they should be also. Plus or minus a ranking wouldn't bother me either. Yes, there are teams ranked lower than them with 0 losses; Arizona St, Cincy, Kansas, and Hawaii, but could they beat Florida? Who knows? But a playoff would decide that!!
With a playoff system, there could be a margin of error without debate! Is a 2 loss UF team ranked @ 13 too high? Let them play a #4 in the playoff and we'll see.
It's the only way we'll know....

biggest game of the college season??
man, im tellin ya, this usc oregon game at autzen stadium is really looming large. might it just be the best game of the year?? oregon is just stomping opponents and just has a deep abiding hatred for usc. and they have a score to settle with them for last years loss. i think that oregon will have their strongest game thus far in the season and put usc to bed 45-35. but i think it will be the best game to watch so far this year.

Should the SEC and Pac-10 have entrants in the National Championship game?
This is a two part question. First, should the SEC champion be in the National Championship game. The SEC has six teams in the BCS top 25, and those teams beat on each other week after week. Some say they are far and away the best conference in the country, and don't think it is fair that other top tier schools don't have the tough competition that LSU, Florida, and other SEC schools do.
Second, if either USC, Oregon, Arizona St, or California win the rest of their games, should they be in the National Championship? Arizona St hasn't play the tough games the other three have, but end the season with Oregon, UCLA, Cal, and USC (before their final game against Arizona). Oregon, USC, and Cal have gone to other conferences to beat up on other teams, only to fall to teams in PAC-10.
Keep in mind for both of these questions that Boston College and Ohio St are still undefeated, should that matter?
